Modular Integrated Construction (MiC)

Saint-Gobain Weber Hong-Kong

The Architectural Services Department's 'Disciplined Services Quarters for the Fire Services Department at Pak Shing Kok, Tseung Kwan O’ is the first public works development adopting the Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) system in Hong Kong.

The development consists of 5 buildings with 16-17 floors with 8 units on each floor, providing a total of 648 bedroom units of 50 square metres. The entire development has a total of 3,800 prefabricated components, each component has been pre-assembled in the factory for most of the finishing, interior decoration, fittings and other assembly processes.

Both external & internal prefabricated components used Saint-Gobain Weber's Tile adhesive & Tile Grouting products. The use of prefabricated components in the "MiC" construction method helps to solve the deficiency of construction workers, shortens construction duration, improve construction quality and project cost-efficiency.
